Mega-cap tech funded the next rotation this quarter. SpaceX (SPCX) was the single largest net buy on the platform for a second straight quarter, while retail sold Microsoft, Nvidia, Apple, Meta, and Palantir and rotated into the rate trade and the broader semiconductor complex.
- SpaceX Leads Again: SPCX was the single largest net-bought name of the quarter at $575.2 million, the broadest-held new name across account participation, and climbed to a top-12 holding by market value in every generation.
- Mega-Cap Tech Funds the Rotation: Five of the six largest net sells were mega-cap technology (Microsoft, Nvidia, Palantir, Apple, and Meta), with the S&P 500 ETF (SPY) the sixth.
- The Rate Trade Broadens: With the 10-year Treasury yield near its highest level since 2007, clients added to short-duration Treasuries (SGOV) and a bitcoin futures ETF (BITO), the quarter’s second-largest net buy, as Strategy (MSTR) entered the Top 25 of three generational cohorts.
- Generational Insights: Nvidia, Apple, Tesla, Alphabet, and Amazon continued to anchor every generation’s Top 25. Gen Z, Millennials, and Gen X added Strategy and Oracle, Boomers rotated into defensives like Pfizer, Walmart, and Johnson & Johnson, and SpaceX consolidated into a top-12 holding across every cohort.
- The Full Report Includes: Top 25 rankings by generation, the SpaceX follow-through deep-dive, the semiconductor-rotation and rate-trade analysis, the full Top 10 net buys and net sells, and what to watch as Anthropic’s expected Q4 IPO approaches.
Apex sits at the center of retail investing infrastructure, supporting millions of accounts across hundreds of clients. We see what investors buy, sell, and hold, in real time, across four generational cohorts.
Apex Investor Pulse turns that view into intelligence. Each report tracks the Top 25 equity holdings by generation alongside the behavioral shifts that define each period.
Unlike backward-looking quarterly snapshots that arrive long after trends have matured, our real-time data infrastructure captures market-moving patterns as they emerge, when the intelligence still carries value.
